We have taken approximately 15 cruises. This, by far, was the worse. We followed the "70,000 pounds of metal" heavy metal cruise and they left the ship (and the crew) a disaster. Arrived at port and breezed through registration quickly--around 11-12. Waited in their "holding" area for several hours. No explanation, food or drinks. At about 2:00 an employee walked through barking orders. Someone thought she said it was our turn to board. Immediately another employee came screaming, "NO ONE TOLD YOU TO GET UP!! EVERYONE SIT DOWN NOW. About 2:30 about the same thing happened.

When we were finally able to board, the lines for food were long and some people didn't get to eat lunch. The pool area was a mess and closed all evening. The hot tubs were cold for a day and half--we think they were drained and refilled because of filth. Also there was a black ring around the hot tubs in the solarium for 3 days until someone finally cleaned them. The Promenade shop areas smelled like smoke. In the Bolero lounge, a chair had a cigarette hole burn. There was no bonvoyage party or pics. The ship didn't leave til after 8 pm. Dining room ervice was poor. The helper could only Serve bread. You had to ask for coffee. The first night the bar server came at the end of dinner to ask for drinks. The next night was a bit earlier. The rest of the time he didn't come at all.

Staff seemed exhausted after a 4day Heavy Metal Cruise. Unfortunately, talked with first time cruisers who will never take another cruise because of this experience. I know I'll make sure we don't follow this type of cruise again.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin was fine. Cabin stewardess kept it clean.

Port Reviews

Labadee

Rented cabana for the day. Nothing special. Cushions dirty. Monsoon rains

Falmouth

Dunn River Falls and tubing. Took about 2 hours to drive to ocho rio from Falmouth. Did tubing first. We didn't want to stop for shopping. Of course, took us to their special shopping area. Everything was marked up to give us 50% off. Then to Dunn River falls. Didn't get to do entire falls because ran out of time. Could have skipped shopping and would have time to complete falls.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Booked hotel that had shuttle from airport and $10 person shuttle to ship. Horrible breakfast included. It was Hilton airport/cruise hotel.
