I filled out the third-party survey questionnaire that Carnival sent out, but thought I'd share my 'essay' answers and observations with others.

This was our first cruise so we enjoyed it immensely. For so long now, extravagant vacations have been out of the ordinary for us, both situationally and financially. We were land-locked, mature empty nesters and celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary, looking for romance, rejuvenation and adventure. So this cruise was over the top for us, an ocean voyage in tropical paradise. Our balcony stateroom was the ‘bees knees.’ Our three additional cost shore excursions were the private beach with free water toys and lunch on Grand Turk; swimming and snorkeling with Stingrays on Half Moon Cay; and the underwater sub adventure at Nassau. All three were absolutely amazing although very brief.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

Beautiful white sand beach, crystal clear water, peace, tranquility, fun in the sun, free island punch and Jerk Chicken lunch.

Half Moon Cay

Swimming and snorkeling with large stingrays in a confined cove area. Snorkel gear provided. Excellent opportunity to learn about stingrays and feel their velvety smoothness gently sailing over your feet and against your legs. Be pleasantly surprised at how swiftly and adeptly they sweep calamari out of your hand. Laugh as they clamor over themselves to get the feed guides attention. Bask in the sun and sheer beauty of your place in paradise.

Nassau

Enjoy a leasurely boat ride from Stuart Cove across the open waters to where you drop anchor for an awesome adventure. Your guides are very nice and super fun. They're very knowledgeable and give instruction. They are patient and encouraging. These individual underwater recreational vehicles are like upright mopeds with submarine helmets that provide constant oxygen. It's like a motorized scuba experience without needing scuba equipment. While the experience is exhilarating and overwith much too quickly, its well worth the cost if you've never scuba'd or snorkeled before.
