This was the first half of 2 back-to-back cruises on Golden Princess. The embarkation process in Auckland was very quick (although there were only about 100 passengers joining).
Our cabin on Deck 6 was "Partially Obstructed View" but there was a good view of the sea through some steel framework for the life-rafts. The cabin was generally good, although the bathrooms are a bit tired, and the showers about as small as you could imagine (with clingy plastic shower curtains that were a bit short and kept depositing water outside if knocked).
The food was as good as I've had on 20+ cruises with excellent variety and choice. I don't recall one disappointing dish on the cruise. The entertainment was OK, although the 'rock' band were a bit mixed depending on what they were playing.

Auckland has a lively waterfront, and is well served by shops and public transport near the wharf.
