Just come back from a Caribbean cruise on Britannia. I, like many others am confused about the many negative reviews about this ship. This is a beautiful ship and I for one like the understated colours and the fact it is more like a hotel than a ship.

The stateroom was fine and the balcony big enough for two chairs and a table. Shame about the neighbours! Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of being next to a very loud gentleman who was on holiday with another couple and hence the balcony was opened up! This meant that sometimes up until 1.00 am we had to ensure noise from this area. Cruise lines needs to consider other passengers when allowing balconies to be opened up as it disturbs the peace of nearby neighbours. This northern gentleman didn't seem to realise the partition between our balconies was not sound proof! We really didn't want to hear all he had to say (very loudly). Also, a word to the two middle aged women on our other side, who decided to sunbathe topless (not a pretty sight). We could not help but see you in the reflection from the balcony glass! I just tried to avoid contact with the glass and read my book!

We dined in Limelight twice, Cheryl Baker and Dean Andrews were superb! We also ate in Glasshouse and Beachhouse, both again, we enjoyed very much. We also ate in Meridian (freedom dining). The service in this restaurant was hit and miss but only on one occasion would I say our waiters were rude! We usually find on other ships that we are able to eat at the same table most nights, even if this involved a short wait, however, they were not very accommodating on this ship and so we were unable to build up a relationship with our waiters, which we usually enjoy.
