Just got off a 3 day cruise to nowhere which I do every year with girlfriends on different cruise lines. Explorer of the Seas was the most disappointing cruise so far. The food was like eating from the most basic cafeteria. It was never hot and most times tasteless. The service was non existent. We would be plonked on a table and left for sometimes as long as 15 minutes before anyone came near us. There was one hour queue to get into breakfast in the dining room.

There was no stock in the shops and we were told in the cosmetic/perfume shop that they do not have stock for the 3 day cruises. Why bother opening the shops? The only saving grace for this ship was our stateroom attendant and the ships layout and entertainment. If Royal Caribbean is running these 3 day cruises and charging maximum prices for them they need to have adequate staffing levels and service. I have cruised more than 10 times on various lines and this was the worst experience I have ever had.

Promenade Stateroom

Standard ship's stateroom. Would not pick Promenade Stateroom again. We did not go to bed until entertainment was finished each night but if you wanted an early night you would be disturbed by noise coming from the very loud Grand Promenade and the bars and eateries there.
