Just arrived home from a 5 night cruise on the Emerald, departed Feb 6, 2016. The ship is lovely, the food just ok, entertainment we gave a D. The best place for wine lovers is Vines..go see Cherry..she is a wonderful host and very hard worker. We were in cabin A533, first time in an inside cabin and it was great. New comfy beds, clean, cabin steward did a good job, no a/c or plumbing problems. Bathroom is very small but we managed. Be sure to bring your own hairdryer.

The 70's night party was fun and the Rat Pack Show on the last night was wonderful but lasted 30 mins?? Love Muts but all other entertainment was very poor. Tried room service for breakfast a few days and could never get hot coffee. Tried to get reservations in the Crown Grill the last night and no one at the restaurant to take the reservation. Called the number three times, got put on hold, then no one answered. Spoke to three people who work on the ship and no one could tell us what to do. Yikes! So we gave up and did not go.

Getting off and on the ship was easy, very fast, organized. Go to the port at 11 and walk right on-board in about 30 mins. This was our sixth cruise, the Ruby was much better. We will probably try Princess one more time...either the Regal or the Royal hoping for better food and entertainment.

Never thought i would stay in an inside room but this one was very nice. The layout was good, plenty of storage and the new beds are wonderful. A very quite room, slept better then i do at home. Just bring your own hairdryer. The one in this room is from the 1950's and does not work.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We are chef wanna be's and have enjoyed Chef Jean Pierre's cooking classes a great deal. This was a third visit. He is a wonderful chef and host, the food he prepares is marvelous and we have learned a lot about cooking.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

This was our second time in Grand Cayman. Snorkeling is the best here but weather was not permitting on this trip. Cold and over-cast. DO NOT eat at Breeze's restaurant right in town. They claim to have fresh fish and they do not, the service was just terrible (took almost 2 hours to eat), ignored most of the time, and over-charged on our bill because they up-charge you about 20% for using US dollars and add a 15% gratuity on the bill. $80 for bad food and service!

Ocho Rios

This was our second trip to this resort...we went thru resortforaday.com and stayed at the Hilton Jewel-all inclusive- food, great drinks, use of paddle boards, ocean kayaks and more. This resort was adults only but they have others for families. VERY NICE!
