This was our 5th cruise and longest one to date and the most expensive ever. I did not give enough weight to what I read on here and I am so sorry I didn't go with my gut. In my defense I thought European was intriguing, gourmet meant great food, stylish meant current. I was so wrong. In addition to that their website is not state of the art, you can't make payments you have to call in, won't hold but the most basic information, all that has to be done at checkin, and hooking credit card to ship card is done on board on a terminal after waiting forever in line. Drink tickets another line forever. We sailed 2 1/2 hours late due to Yacht Club members being delayed at airport. Front of boat is inaccessible due to the yacht club being in that area.
The style of the ship is so dated, all based on the 1950s for a 3 year old ship. Gaudy, way too many mirrors, small lounges, small shops, way too many specialty restaurants. To top it off a very small area for smokers though at least 1/3 smoked and it is next to the kiddie pool. No smoking at all in the sun by lounge chairs. The theater however is very nice. Unfortunately the sound mixing is too loud and not mixed correctly, I only know about the mixing as my husband is a musician, I thought originally it was acoustics.
Small room, smaller bathroom, took 3 days to get shower fixed. Nice steward but very little english, minibar was never unlocked, bed was awful, it took the entire trip to realize they had put the mattress, which has the extra firm foot area, on backwards. Constantly had to ask for adequate towels and wash cloths. Room was not made up till afternoon consistently. On other lines I have found the rooms to be pretty quiet but the hallway noise was incredible and came into the room loud and clear.
