We boarded the Thomson Dream at Jamaica, and was given cabin 6158. The cabin itself didn't look particularly clean..stains on the setee, behind the toilet needed serious grouting/cleaning. When draining water from the bath, it cam up the drain under the sink!
Anyway, we had been told by a fellow passenger that there had been a problem the previous week with illness, and that was the reason that the staff at the buffet were serving everyone with their gloves on. We were not allowed even to touch a cup and fill with coffee or water. We were not allowed to touch anything. I found the food was not particularly warm, and at one point I asked for a salad, and after putting lettuce and a few other things on my plate was handed it only to almost burn myself with the heat off the plate.
Food is basic, and not very tasty. If you are looking for 5* food, then this is not the ship for you. We decided to go to the Orion restaurant for breakfast one morning, and were sitting with a handful of people, when a member of the crew came through the dining room past where we were having breakfast, with a trolley which had 'dirty laundry' marked on the side, and he was wearing a mask! I was not amused. One of the waiters who served us, looked like he wished he was elsewhere.
Not the nicest of cabins. We had a picture window, which was filthy, and needing attention.
The toilet seat needed the fixings cleaned and renewed. There was a large dent in the wardrobe door, as someone had banged it against the dressing table. The TV was small and insignificant, and lost signal most of the time.
a varied tour, and quite interesting.
Interesting tour of the island.
