The change in management of the cruise line could not be more evident. This was our second time on Riviera in a penthouse suite. We did not expect there to be a difference in the experience as we were completely happy the last time(2014). I don't know where to start!!! ,so I will start with the food. The food was very good all around. The four speciality restaurants, excellent. The grand dining room , disaster. Every time we went there we were told we had to be seated with a group, this never happened on our other cruise. We came here for a time to be with each other not share meals with strangers and insisted we were given a table for two, one night they even argued with us about it and voices were raised. They dining room was not full, there were empty tables around us, I would love a valid reason for this .
I was locked out of my room every day by my key card not working, had to get 3 new ones made. Finally a security guard told us they did not know how to work the system at the desk and he fixed the problem himself. I found the staff in the restaurants, cleaners, butler were good, pleasant in fact very good. The problemy came with the people at reception, arrogant, bad communication, sometimes rude and condescending. Not at all the quality of staff as before the change.
There was a virus breakout, the staff was all over the place squirting slimy antibacterial liquid EVERYWHERE. They even squirted this junk all down the front of the drawers in closet and soaked my underclothes.The smell of disinfectant permeated everything. This is a beautiful ship, too bad it is going downhill. Last note- tours way overpriced, I guess they figure if you can afford this type of cruise they can afford to stiff you!!!!
