First cruise with Royal Caribbean and on this experience not keen to return.

Embarcation was ok for us as we were early though it took some time for luggage to arrive The ship is a good size but we had plumbing problems in our shower and found our cabin]which had a balcony to be very basic in its furnishing and tight in space. Assumed that since it has been sold there has been little outlay in replacing curtaining etc. but the problems in the Windjammer at breakfast and lunch must have other reasons. There seemed to be a strange lack of consistency in the layout of the food at breakfast and it was difficult to find things like honey and some cereals. Lunch time could be really busy and the constant messages over the tannoy telling people to move from the table when finished made for a less than relaxing experience.

Dinner in the main restaurant was ok but nothing stood out. The starter portions when prawns or other seafood were very small and the desserts were average. Service was fine and there was a constant flow of staff clearing up but at the self service meals the layout seemed to cause chaos with too many people milling about trying to find what they were looking for

Cabin Review

Poor quality furnishings and fittings . No fridge and small space. When bed was split very little movement space and only 3 tiny drawers. The reflux situation in the shower when sewage type material came up was explained by the movement in the sea which was not reassuring

Port Reviews

Dubai

Dune safari was good fun but the meal was delayed till after the belly dancer and was cold and spoiled the evening

Muscat

Interesting trip including souk and Mosque really enjoyable with good guide

Abu Dhabi

Grand Mosque was exceptional and it was good to see how Abu Dhabi compares with Dubai-favourably less frantic
