Have been on the Royal several times and the biggest issue our group had was the lack of good service in the Symphony Dining Room. Several evenings were less than good. Our first night after we were seated it took 20 minutes for our water glasses to be filled. Then I watched him as he walked around with his notepad trying to look busy but he wasn't. Then a table next to us was seated and he walked over to them, took their orders and served them. It took us almost 2 hours to eat. NOT good service. We had poor service another evening. We didn't want dessert but twice we asked for coffee and both times we were ignored. I asked for a bowl of berries for dessert and several evenings I was told there are none. Roy did give me a bowl of strawberries twice so there are berries somewhere out there.

Another issue is the Anytime Dining. It isn't anytime much any more. We either had to eat at 5:30 or wait until 7:00. We noticed several empty tables in Symphony Dining Room. When one of our group went out to go to the restroom, she came back and commented on the lines of angry people standing outside the door waiting to be seated. Anytime just isn't like it used to be! My husband had one very bad meal - chicken - and he laughed at the amount of coleslaw on the plate - about a tablespoon he said. I would say that a lot of the meals are becoming average - OK but nothing really special. We did have a very good meal in the Crown Grill and an excellent wait person - Violetta. She even stopped to say hello in the morning at breakfast.

Another issue on several cruises is the LOUD LOUD music - both in the theatre and outside. Not all of us are hard of hearing - although after several nights in the theatre I might have a change in my hearing.
