Trip to embarkation port of San Francisco due to closed sections of the Embarcadero for the Super Bowl (disembarkation was even worse for the same reason). Once we reached the terminal it was even worse! Due to main gangplank being broken the terminal was crowded & uncomfortable with waits of 2 hours plus!! The ship is showing its age and need for refurbishing which will be done at year end. Quite frankly, they shouldn't wait for year end!!
We had a great room steward but only so so dining staff in the early seating in Botticelli. We also the tour staff was not as good as other Princess cruises (ditto for dining room staff). Most of the tours were really good but had 1 tour guide in Kuaii whose English left much to be desired. Had great difficulty understanding him & when we did he had nothing worthwhile to say.
But the entertainment offerings were great - very varied and very good. The Princess productions were ok but very predictable and very short. Most shows were only 30-35 minutes.
John our steward was fabulous! The room was tired looking but clean.
