I sailed with my husband aboard the Equinox on the 10-night Ultimate Caribbean Cruise out of Port Everglades on January 22nd. This was our 15th cruise and our second sailing on the Equinox. We were on board for this same cruise last April. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to repeat the cruise.
We always fly in a day early and we stayed at the Ramada Airport & Cruise Port, a nice hotel at very reasonable rates. They picked us up at the airport and took us to the ship on their free shuttle.
We try to board the ship around 11AM or so. Last year embarkation was a nightmarish process that kept us two hours just in the line to get our ship's card. This time we didn't pause from the time we went through security, right to the window with our documents, and we were on the ship within twenty minutes.
We love booking a hump cabin when we can and get situated in the middle. An unimpeded view forward to aft. I would stay away from the ends of the hump and close to the hump on the flat part of the ship as you can see onto the balconies of your neighbors.
