I had read many negative reviews of this itinerary and was worried about my booking. I found that it was a very good cruise and that it was great value for the money. I wouldn’t call it luxurious, but it was more than adequate. We set sail on Jan. 30 2016.
After arriving in Hobby Airport, we took Norwegian’s shuttle to the ship. This was $50 pp one way. I didn’t see a lot of taxis waiting and didn’t feel like dealing with the uncertainty of getting to the pier. You get on a big tour bus and drive through lots of urban sprawl, container shipyards, and petrochemical refineries to get to the ship.
Embarkation was a little frustrating with lines that were about 30 minutes long. Once you got to the desk, you had to deal with a college student who wasn’t very well versed about the ship. They just take your picture and credit card.
The cabin was a little smaller than expected, but had excellent storage in the closet and drawers. We had an excellent stateroom attendant. The balcony was great, but it seems that all of the railings on the ship obscure the horizon while you are seated. I felt this was a very quiet cabin despite being so close to the forward elevator. There is a clothesline in the shower, which was a nice touch.
