This is only my second cruise, first with Norwegian, and I have to say I was freaked out when I read all the negative reviews about this ship. Don't listen to them. If you're a decent person who isn't a rude, stuck up, wanna be rich snob you will have a great time on this ship. The worst part about our trip is that we would hear some of these complainers at dinner and at the 24 hour chicken wing place, and couldn't believe how rude they were to the wonderful hard working staff on the Norwegian Spirit. The staff were hands down my highest review for this ship. Our room steward Beningna was amazing, knew my name from the first day onwards. Our bartenders at Henry's Pub were fun, friendly, and make the best martini's you've ever had.

The food was good, but not as good as I remember on Royal Carribean. However, that being said, it was far better than any All Inclusive resort I've been to. We went to Gardens almost every night as we found Windows a bit noisy from the engines and it's the same food as in Gardens. But Gardens is beautiful, the serving staff are wonderful, and the menu was superb. My favorite meal was the Cornish game hen with fig and apple stuffing. To die for. And every night we had the warm chocolate volcano for dessert. If I could eat that everyday, I would die a happy person. Shogun the Asian Restaurant was our least favorite. While the ambiance and Egg Drop soup was amazing, the main course and dessert were subpar compared to Windows/Gardens dinner menu. My husband preferred the breakfast buffet to anything. The made to order eggs were so delicious, I don't know where they get their eggs from, but I want some more. The BBQ's by the pool were great, our favorite being the beef schwarma day.

As far as entertainment goes, the aerialists were so impressive. The talent and skill that they have is awe inspiring. The rest of the entertainment was ok. We liked the around the world show, but we didn't care for Elements which is their main show. Too much cheesy Sigfried and Roy style magician stuff from the 1970's. However, considering that I would estimate 90% of the boat was over the age of 65, it might have been appealing to them. I will let you know, that with our group being in our mid thirties, we were definitely the minority on this ship. Most of the passengers were white, over 65 Americans. I was shocked at the lack of diversity. On our last Royal Carribean cruise, we found there was different races, ages, and groups of people which I think led to entertainment that suited our needs more. I guess being Canadian, I was not used to the lack of diversity for a week.
