We joined our first P&O cruise in Barbados. We were transferred from the plane to the port in small overcrowded buses, all crammed in with hand luggage on knees, no storage space. Checking into the cruise boat was well organised and we had a cabin on C deck with a balcony. The room itself was clean but the sink taps looked like fixed with mastic sealant and some of the tiles in the ensuite looked grubby, the rails on the balcony had chipped paint. The cruise was well organised, staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed all the planned trips out provided by P&O.

However unless you paid extra there was no choice of restruant every evening, as on several nights the informal conservatory restruant was closed. This meant you had to go to the main formal restruant. Overall the food was hot and well presented and waiters very helpful.

However everything was extra, the soft drinks package only offered diet Pepsi or lemonade, no tonic despite our card saying this was available. The wine package was very expensive and we felt the markup on drinks was expensive. Wi fy was extra, trips extra, water extra, tips extra, 2 restruants charged additional prices, Costa coffee extra etc etc. Overall the Adonis was dated and in need of refurbishment, which is due at the end of the season, when this ship will be run through another company.
