I hadn't cruised Carnival for 6 years. I think their older ships were hard to navigate, plus kind of neon gaudy. Also, the 7 night and shorter cruises have too many kids and drinking young adults. This time I went with a friend, there were 4 of us who met for a girls trip.
However, I thought probably this longer Journeys cruise, being a one way from San Juan to NOLA, would have older passengers. It did! Kids or drunks weren't an issue at all!
The service was very good! We had early dining, and a great wait staff! Our cabin steward was efficient, but not overly friendly.
Carnival has some of the largest standard OV cabins of any line. Ours was 220 sf, and had 2 bathrooms! One was smaller, had just a small tub, with shower, and a sink. The other was like all ship bathrooms. But, this made getting ready so easy, as this was a girls trip,
