Sailed on the Grand Princess to Hawaii. As expected, the ship is older but fine by me. If you travel in the winter, expect cold weather and a bit of a rocky ride on the beginning and end of the cruise. This cruise is a little different because there are a lot of sea days, then 4 days of ports and more sea days. The vibe is a little different than a port intensive cruise and I think people are friendlier. Passengers were primarily American (mostly Californian) with some Canadians and Brits and the average age was 65+.

There was a bit more to do going over because there were quite a few lectures on Hawaii. They had ukulele and hula lessons (coming and going) and various get togethers for everything from Vets to Mah Jongg players. I liked that, a bit like summer camp for seniors :). They also had a lecture series on loves of the great composers? I have no idea if it was well attended because I can think of many, many other subjects that would interest me more.

I would have liked to know more about the ports before I left so here it goes:
