My husband and I have 2 autistic children (twins), a very busy 8 yr old daughter and crazy stressful careers. So when we travel we aim for the best of the best. Since we take care of people all day everyday, we enjoy a little pampering when we can get it and we certainly did on the NCL Escape. We have cruised with NCL four times prior to this trip and last year decided to try a different cruise line because we felt like all the ships were the same and we wanted something fresh and different. So, we tried sailing with another cruise line and while it was very nice we missed many of the amenities and exclusivity that comes with the Haven. We had suites on both ships, but on the Escape we had our own little oasis away from the insanity of the pool area on sea days. All of our spa treatments, sun decks, multiple hot tubs, a pool and our own restaurant and bar/lounge.
Our room was incredible. Lots of space at 525 sq.ft. Not including the balcony. Tons space for storing clothing, hanging up or folding. Dining and sitting areas in the room were just enough for the two of us and the shower and large soaking tub was wonderful. The service, however, was out of this world. Just about everyone we encountered in the Haven made us feel special and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Especially our butler and the restaurant staff.
Best food on the ship by the way. The restaurant prepared things that weren't even on the menu just because we had a craving. The Master Chef came out to our table several times to make sure we were enjoying everything and that he had prepared the special items to our liking. From embarkation to disembarkation we were treated like VIPs without over doing it.
It was incredible.
