We just returned from our first ever cruise. We are a family of three (myself, daughter - 8, and wife). We tend to be active and the two adults are pseudo-foodies; what that means is that we like a wide variety of foods but have reasonable expectations. I've read a number of the reviews and can only think that people either have unrealistic expectations or are just natural complainers. The Independence of the Seas is a great ship and I would recommend it for sure.
Embarking and disembarking - C
The FLL port authority does not seem to have it's proverbial (insert word) together. There were 5 ships that came in at once and they sent Independence to a dock with facilities that could not accommodate the number of passengers. Some people waited outside, in line for 3 hours or more. Neither the Port Authority or RCCL handled this well. Information was not forthcoming and neither was water, food or seats for those outside. One woman passed out and one guy we met was very concerned given his diabetes. Not well done!!
Big enough, comfy beds and clean.
