This was my first cruise to Alaska, my first Holland cruise, my sixth cruise overall. I traveled solo and due to the duration of my trip, I wanted to touch base with family. The Internet did not work - over and over, despite their assurances that it was "fixed", it never worked. After many days, I was refunded my money. I asked where the $50 onboard credit was - and was told that I was not getting any, even though I was told that on the phone before the cruise.
One evening, midway through my cruise, I was stuck in an elevator between floors 7 and 8 - and I was alone. When I picked up the phone, I was asked, "Where are you?" which I thought was an ignorant question. After 20 minutes, the doors were finally opened by a repair person in white coveralls - and he asked why I was crying. He said I was perfectly safe. In spite of being midway between floors, he said to me, "JUMP." No assistance, no stool, no hand - - nothing. I'm 70 years old with titanium knees, do I look like a jumper? I was out of sorts. A passenger came and helped me after I "jumped down". I was disturbed beyond words.
The food was nothing special and if you don't like salmon and mussels, you're going to be hungry. I had my best times off the ship rather than on it - as Alaska is a wonderful place to visit.
