This was my 8th Carnival cruise, and I keep going on Carnival cruises because usually they are a lot of fun. I particularly enjoy the dancing during Sail away and on sea days. I was very disappointed this trip because they had a "calypso" band which consisted of a man and a woman whose voices were very irritating. My cruise mate could not stand to be out by the big pool because this woman's voice was high pitched and listening to her was like hearing fingernails on a chalk board. The music was WAY too loud. This bothered many people sitting around us. They did not play the kind of music anyone could or would dance to. The DJ only played for short intervals.

On the last sea day, Josh, the cruise director kept promising a dance party. We sat and waited through nearly 2 hours of a fundraiser for St. Jude which overtook the dance floor completely. I am a supporter of St. Jude, but Carnival should find a better way to accept donations without taking up our 2 hours to dance on the last sea day. We had a total of 10 minutes to do the Cupid Shuffle, Wobble Wobble, etc. Then it was time again for the calypso singers. UGH. There was no sail away party because it was cold and windy on the Lido deck, so they should have made sure we got to dance on the last sea day. What did passengers do? Eat. Drink. Eat.

I have never seen so many people inappropriately dressed in the MDR. On formal night, there were several men dressed in holey jeans and sloppy looking shirts. No class. Carnival did nothing about this even though it clearly states in their dress code what to wear. Even in the steak house passengers were dressed inappropriately. One woman wore flip flops to the Chef's Table! This is a formal event. If someone doesn't want to dress nicely, they should not sign up for the Chef's Table.

Great layout! Loved having a separate private vanity area and closet. The whirlpool tub was powerful. The balcony was large and easily accommodated 4. The drapes were kind of hanging off their hooks, but that was minor.
