We started off the cruise by staying 3 nights at the Singapore InterContinental. The ship was as not the Solstice class which we like but has been so called solsticised. Which means that about 25% of the space from the upper level of the dining room and about 15% of the lower level has been removed for other restaurants and it seems the seating capacity stayed the same by moving the tables closer together and now funneling everybody through one door on each level.
The quality of the food on the Millennium was below previous cruises. As an example I always enjoyed the French onion soup. The first night it arrived luke warm. Next night the same, and it was not only mine. I also noted that the amount of cheese kept declining as the cruise progressed and the amount of bread increased. When I commented about it the next time they had sprinkled grated parmesan on top. Eventually I gave up. Since we were on for 4 weeks we always ate in the dining room for lunch as we found the buffet lacking and it was horrible when they served when they had some norovirus.
One item at lunch stands out was the mozerralla sticks and the breading was thick and had a drop of cheese. After sending it back they brought new which had cheese but it tasted like white cheddar. I know you will think I am only complaining about the bad but there really was nothing that stands out as a excellent dish after 4 weeks on board.
