We are veteran cruisers, so we have many, many ships, cruise lines and destinations with which to compare cruises. With this background, I will say that our cruise on the Serenade of the Seas was about average. This is our experience on our recent cruise.

Embarkation was simple and quick, as we were later checking in (about 3:00). We went immediately to the Windjammer for a late lunch and then about 3:30 were able to go to our stateroom (9258). Bags came soon. So far, so good.

Our stateroom was at the very aft end of the ship. We chose that room after we found out all the suites were booked. It affords a nice view and a very large balcony. The downside is you get a lot of movement and some mechanical noise. The balcony rooms are about average with other ships. The bathroom is much smaller than we have ever seen in our many years of cruising. There is storage under the sink (shelf) and a wall cabinet. The shower is very small, but has an enclosure that pulls shut and shower gel in a dispenser. No other amenities are complimentary.
