We booked this cruise for our sons 21s birthday. It was ok but not as great as I had anticipated. Our room steward and the dinner crew were awesome! I have no complaints there. The food was ok but not as great this time. The coffee machines on the Lido Deck were a nightmare - they barely worked and it took forever to get ONE cup of coffee.

I was very disappointed with the interior of the ship - it needs serious updates!! There was strong sewer smell on 4 of the floors almost everyday. The ship was absolutely packed and there were not enough lounge chairs on deck or seats in the Ivanhoe theater for some of the shows. The size of the swimming pools was a huge disappointment - way too small. There were children using the hot tubs as a swimming pool - jumping, splashing and diving in them - SO NOT appropriate. Where were the parents and the Carnival staff? There were a lot of RUDE people on this cruise and no respect or concern for anyone else. Typical for our world today - sad but true. The shore excursions were ok but way Overpriced.

On our last day on board it rained the whole way home the rocking of the ship was awful. There was leak around the balcony on the Lido deck in several places. I pointed this out to 3 different staff members and only received a shoulder shrug. I am all for having fun and relaxation but some folks took this to a Whole other INAPPROPRIATE LEVEL!!! I think they felt they owned the boat and could be out of control and spoil the other quests vacation. This will be our LAST Carnival cruise.

Rooms were ok but need updating. We had adjoin rooms as we were traveling with my son(21) & Daughter (25).I was very upset that our travel agent booked us on the First level!! There was extreme noise early in the morning and during the night - difficult to sleep and the Sewer smell was AWFUL. I tried to change our room but it was booked. I would NEVER have chosen this floor - our travel agent booked it. I have already called her and let her know!!

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Didn't get to the real people or the island. The Zipline was fun but we were not aware of how much walking, climbing stairs and steep hills there would be. Fortunately my family in good shape and we were all able to make the climbs. However there were a few in our group who had to cut it short and did not get to experience the whole zipline due to the physical exertion.

St. Thomas

Not enough time to enjoy the beach, water or the snorkeling. Felt rushed and hurried on ALL the excursions.

San Juan

We did our own thing for San Juan. We did a short bus tour to get the layout of the city and then explored on our own. It reminds me of St Augustine or Savannah Ga. I enjoyed walking the city and eating in an authentic Puerto Rican Restaurant - it was a small whole in the wall but the food was great and the fresh Mango juice was awesome. Sorry I cant remember the name.

Grand Turk

It was ok - Overpriced for the amount of time spent driving it. Don't book it you have back or neck issues. Very rough!! Would like to have seen more of the actual Island - it was more like a view of the badlands. The tour guide was extremely rude and pushy over the photos he took of everyone. I did not purchase any.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

We were only there to embark and disembark the ship.
