It was fly/cruise holiday flying from Gatwick to Montego Bay, Jamaica. It did not go to plan to start with. When check-in at Gatwick we noticed that the allocated cabin was not cabin we chose. We protested but the staff at the airport did not know anything and decided that our luggage will be delivered to the reception on the ship rather than to "our" cabin. It was not until we arrived in Montego Bay that we were given letter where it was explained to us that there was and administrative error and for that reason we were allocated a different cabin. We were given compensation in the form of a credit to our account but because our luggage was not labeled by the cabin number it took very long time before it was finally delivered. The cabin was one floor below the one we wanted but I cannot complain about that given the compensation. The main complain is that the letter of explanation was not sent to use before travelling to Gatwick or at least at Gatwick.

We enjoyed the ship and the cruise. Evening Entertainment was surprisingly good and varied. There could be more activities/talks during the day when on the sea. Food was also very good in the main restaurant and also in other, self service restaurants. Table water was always served with the meal and coffee was available at the meal end. Other drinks were not significantly more expensive than pub prices in the UK but drinks package was expensive and not worth it for most average drinkers. Staff was very attentive.

We subscribed to quite a few excursions, the highlight was Stingray City & Barrier Reef Two Stop Snorkel on Grand Cayman followed by Eco Cruise On Gatun Lake & Locks from Colon. Panama. Port in Havana is right by the centre of old Havana and so there is no need to take an organised excursion. There is T1 HabanaBusTour hop-on hop-off bus at 10CUC a day which stops right outside the terminal. We did the whole circular tour as it looked that it would be difficult to get on the bus again somewhere else as it was full all the time.

Cabin Review

Cabin Inside

Inside cabin, relatively small, with a double bed, TV and telephone. Shower room was adequate, all was kept very clean throughout our stay.
