We signed up for both the Specialty Dining and free Ultimated Beverage package. Our first experience, which ended up being a sign of what was to come was at the Blue Lagoon while waiting for the cruise to start. Our order was late but arrived at 2:30, well before the 3:00 drill that we were told about and were assured that there would be plenty of time to eat. At 2:45, our food and drinks were rudely taken away from us before the waiter asked if we were done. When we replied no, we were told sorry but we need your table, you need to leave now.

That evening, at our visit to Cagney's, their "premier steakhouse", we were served a lukewarm steak with no charring, cold broiled shrimp and baked potatoes. When we complained, the server involved the ship's officer who serves as the manager. To make us feel better, he informed us that he had called all of our dining reservations for the rest of the week to make sure they served us hot food. As a retired restaurant manager, I couldn't believe his complete lack of food management skills or that he thought that his efforts would be appreciated and the thing to do. We ended up canceling our other reservation at this restaurant and our visits to all the others on the ship involved a combination of poor service, over sauced entrees, cold food and limited choices on the menus. When we complained to the restaurant reservations desk, instead of apologizing, she asked if we asked if we had asked for a recook of our entrees.

The Garden Cafe buffet was even worse with the same items served all week. The staff is poorly trained and some have yet to master the English language. They ignore lines waiting for service and will take care of all line cutters ahead of you.
