Every January for the last 5 years we have taken a Caribbean cruise, using Celebrity and Carnival. Until this year there has never been any regrets. This year we choose to use Norwegian Cruise lines even though a close friend who took the Breakaway last April strongly suggested against using Norwegian due to the experience they had…. That cruise was also their first time on Norwegian and they had planned on booking a 2016 cruise before leaving the Breakaway had it gone well and didn’t.

We selected the Norwegian Getaway’s Jan 3rd sailing and we brought or 82 and 84-year-old parents with us. Price was good, ship is relatively new. How can you go wrong?

This ship had a large French Canadian Presence on. However, there is no announcements or postings in French. Our parents speak only French and it was difficult for them. Considering the French Canadian presence, one would think NCL would try better to accommodate, from NCL online account and check-in, to postings or announcements on the ships. Read more
