This is our first cruise on such a large ship. I was overwhelmed by this ship. The size was overwhelming, I will give you that, but maybe for me it was just too big. Don't get me wrong I liked the ship and the new technology but it just was too much. Too impersonal would be a better way of putting it. Too big to be personal. I think I like the smaller ships. 4200 passengers and 1700+ staff is a lot to deal with.

Bayonne has been improved since we were there last. Very nice improvements to the parking area, but the price went up to $20 per day. The drive in is still long and slow. As a matter of fact, the last time we cruised we parked right across from the port, where the taxi's sit while waiting to pick up passengers. Very close walk on and off the ship. We parked at Premium Parking off the port for $13 a day and a free shuttle to the ship. Quick pick up after.

Anthem of the Seas was beautiful! A sight to see! SO BIG. You could see her as you drive up to the port. A bit confusing at check in with no real lines to check in with the staff on their IPads. People were jumping around from staff to staff. No real order there. Once we were settled that no one would jump in front of us, check in went very quickly. Verify passports, take our picture and off to security. Quick and easy for us; not so for the people behind us, they gave security attitude and they were taken over to another agent. Be nice to security.

Cabin Review

Spa Junior Suite with Balcony

The cabin was so pretty. We had a Jr. Spa cabin on the 7th deck. The brown/beige tones with some blues which were nice to see. We did not know how to turn on the lights! Too funny to watch us try and figure that out. The couple next to us were very helpful with that. Your room key must be in the slot to turn on the lights. I really liked the dresser drawer space, 6 of them and they were deep. The closet was great for us; it stored all of our suitcases, it had many hangers and a shelf for our shoes. With a light that went on when you opened the door.

We had a separate toilet/sink area and a shower/sink/soaking tub. And the shower had a seat with smoked glass window with a rain shower head and a hand held shower head. The sink had a deep drawer, an outlet for a shaver and some space around the sink. There were 3 hooks in that room. The toilet/sink room had 4 shelves around the mirror along with a deep drawer and shelves on each side of the drawer. There were 2 hooks in that room.

The bed was nice a firm, just the way we like it. We each had 2 pillow and I brought one from home. There was storage with a small safe, 2 drawers and a small closet for hanging shirts or small items. There was a small area between the storage and the bed that had 2 shelves with light switches, a bed light and only 1 outlet for the bed. The other side of the bed had a small area between the bed and the couch. It also had a phone and 2 shelves and a bed light with a switch.

There was a couch bed then the door and windows for the balcony. The balcony had 2 nice rattan brown chairs each with a foot rest and a table. The balcony was a nice size for us. Next to the balcony door was the desk which attached to the dresser with the 6 drawers. There were outlets there along with lights and a chair/stool, it had no real back to it which is why I call it a stool. Hanging on the wall over the dresser was the TV and another outlet. The cabin was a nice size for us.
