First I have to say that this ship is by far the cleanest ship we have ever been on. It is also one of the glitziest ones with its Swarovski staircase in the centrum. Beautiful decor throughout the use of marble and glass is very tasteful one would think you were in a 5 star hotel.
Our balcony cabin 8174 was beautiful and tastefully decorated with the addition of a bath tub and MSC toiletries showers gel shampoo etc. We got a free upgrade from booking an inside to a balcony which was a a special promotion with a lot of cruise companies, I think MSC offered this incentive and it worked. However many of our fellow passengers, and I have to say not many English but those that we did occasionally bump into all said they also got a free drinks package as well as a cabin upgrade so it's worth shopping around for the best deals.
MSC are as we expected geared up for the many Italians that make up the bulk of the passengers seeing that embarkation for this itinerary starts in Civitaveccia or Genoa, so English guests are in the minority along with other European guests. There was quite a lot of French and German onboard as well as several other nationalities.
One of the best cabins we have had the pleasure to stay in with a bath tub .
