The Silver Shadow is a smaller ship and easy to get around. We had a last minute booking owing to the cancellation of our Mekong cruise. We had little time to fully research the cruise but as it was Silversea we felt confident it would be great. We were not disappointed.

Our Deck 6 cabin was in easy reach of all activities. The full crew are well-trained and cannot do enough for you. We were pampered for the full 10 days. The first half of the cruise had good weather but then an unseasonal weather event prevented our visit to Chan May and gave us another sea day. The weather in Halong Bay was cold and wet which spoilt the activities and view somewhat but it was still a great bay to visit with it's limestone shapes looming in the mist.

The restaurants on board are all good - Le Champagne - is a treat - it's extra but worth it. The Terrace is a buffet until evening when it becomes Italian fine dining - another evening treat. We found the food and wine all excellent and the wait staff very obliging in every restaurant.

Cabin V4

With our late booking, we had little choice of cabin but 644 was excellent - we spent a lot of time watching the world go by on the verandah. We were well looked after in every way.
