This was our second time on the Getaway. Going into this cruise we knew what to expect and knew what we wanted to do. The illusionarium was a must as was Tapenyaki grill! The Getaway isn't the biggest ship nor is it the most spacious ship but there is a lot to do when you are on a sea day or at a port that you don't care to visit. We did get in line for the Vibe Beach Club passes but said NO after we found out they had increased the price from $74 to $100 per person for the week. Not worth it!!!! The cabanas at the Vibe also increased to nearly $400. No way would I spend that kind of $$$.

Our ports were Great Stirrup Cay, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We hadn't been to the private island in 5 years and were amazed at how much they expanded it. We were very happy with the amount of space, number of bars. The dining facility was very good as well. Unfortunately in January the water temp was barely 70 degrees and not enjoyable. One note is that we contacted NCL about 5 weeks prior to the cruise to rent a cabana on Great Stirrup Cay and were told the small one's were $471 for the day!!! REALLY? Royal Caribbean has cabanas on Labadee that are much nicer and are right on the water and even some over the water and are all under $300 for the day. The GSC cabanas are nowhere near the water!!!!

Our second stop was in Ocho Rios. We'd been here before and did all the tourist things. This time we hire a taxi and went to a special non-tourist stop.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

New but typical in size. Balcony was tiny. Can barely fit two chairs and a small table...

Port Reviews

Great Stirrup Cay

Stingray City & 2 snorkel stops. Good guys and a lot of fun. Typical pricing and close to the port.

Ocho Rios

Lot's of fun

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Located at the port and very good crew. Friendly and it's clear they are being genuine. They took the time to make sure everyone got a chance to interact with the sting rays if they wanted to. Very fun day!!
