Stayed one night prior to cruise in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the El Canario Lagoon hotel. It was a budget hotel and worth the price. Nice, clean, no frills hotel. We embarked on 1/17/16 at 10pm for a 7-night cruise with stops in St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten. We purchased the "faster to the fun" excursion and it was well worth it. We skipped past any lines and were taken from checking in straight to the gangway, it was awesome!!!
The ship itself was very nice, not too big, not too small. We had a balcony cabin which was worth every penny, it made for a nice time whenever we needed to take a break!! It had quite a few amenities like 3 pools, 8 hot-tubs, waterslide, a running track, basketball and volleyball courts, mini-golf and a dive-in movie screen, a sports bar, a piano bar, along with the usual nightclub, adults-only serenity area, children's club and gym/spa.
The restaurants were all very good, however the Mongolian Wok line was way too slow. Guy Fieri's burger joint burgers were artery clogging but absolutely to die for!! The entertainment was top notch, for us, the comedians were outstanding and kept us in the comedy club every night. After the laughs we headed over to the piano bar where the young lady, Hailey Morgan, played your requests and kept everyone singing along and having a great time!! We often ended our night at the pizza joint where the pizzas were relatively simple but very tasty!!
Cabin was very nice. Lots of room and the balcony was worth every penny. Only complaint is only one outlet and and it wasn't near the bed.
Let you onboard early and pass any lines, exclusive guest services number onboard. Priority service in general. In my opinion, well worth the cost.
Had a great time zip-lining with 6 platforms and a surprise ending!!
Tried to book with cruise-line only to be told there was only 1 ticket left. Ended up saving money by grabbing a taxi in port and doing almost exactly the same thing. Brown's beach with pink sand is beautiful!!!
Riding 4 wheel ATVs up a mountain, through a banana plantation, on roads and off roads. Was a great time!!!!
grabbed a taxi in port, the driver was wonderful. Stopped anywhere we wanted to and took us all over the island. He was a very knowledgeable guide and really nice guy as well.(Can't remember his name though) :(
