Sail Date: Jan 2016

My wife an I departed the Port of New Orleans on January 23, 2016. We were traveling with three other couples. Upon arrival to the cruise terminal we were advised that they were instituting a "new" way of embarkation. As part of this new system our party stood out in the very cold weather awaiting our time to be called into the terminal. Once inside the terminal we were placed in a "Disney World" type line which matriculated back and forth; there were plenty of empty space in line behind us to allow others who were waiting in the Cold to enter the Warm terminal. As it relates to this initial contact with Carnival I found the lack of consideration for the well being of there customers welfare to be questionable; to say the least.

After entering the terminal the process did move quite smoothly. Once we entered the ship we moved to our cabin. As expected the cabin looked a bit dated but this was expected. We did not book the cruise to spend lots of time in the cabin so this was okay. Note: Our cabin steward was terrific; he was very helpful and informative; our cabin was always kept clean and stocked.

As many have commented the food was very underwhelming. The breakfast selections were limited in the Tiffany (buffet). Particularly the meat selection was limited to pork only. There should be other choices such as turkey or beef sausage for example. The night meals in the "Inspiration" were okay; underwhelming.
