Sail Date: May 2015

We were on a section of Viking Star's maiden voyage and there were therefore a few hiccups like mooring at Greenwich took rather longer than expected and meant our planned excursion didn't work out quite as we had hoped. These were not major issues just little niggles which were soon forgotten on what was a lovely cruise in a lovely ship. The cabins were very comfortable, all with balconies which meant we could enjoy the scenery from our own rooms if we wanted to, or we went to the Explorer Lounge.

The ship is spacious and there is plenty of room for its 900 or so passengers. The food was excellent with variety to meet every palate. The crew were all approachable, friendly and helpful.

Most of the included excursions were really interesting although there were one or two teething problems like the Spanish wine tasting where we couldn't hear the presenter. The optional excursions were all reasonable priced unlike another cruise line we had used in 2014. We took a 3 night extension to Iceland which we also thoroughly enjoyed with some excellent included excursions and a very knowledgeable guide.
