Sail Date: Oct 2015
Cabin: Balcony Stateroom

I have cruised extensively over year's this was a special occasion for my parent's Golden Wedding, my husband and myself we are lucky enough to be upgraded to suites on 14/15 floor room 14032, we had fantastic view's when arriving in ports, the suite was delightfully decorated, spacious, walkin wardrobe and small sitting area with a nice balcony.

The best advantage of this suite was the location right beside the upper balcony of the pool area which was quiet and shaded from the wind.

Some areas of the ship could do with a interior makeover however I found the Topazio Lounge to be my favourite the zebra bar and danced the night away with the band.

Port Reviews

Venice

I have travelled all through venice a number of years ago they tell me it is sinking and that the cruise ships were been stopped from leaving here but I guess the Italians are losing too much custom to do this, loads of bridges, friendly people and get yourself a gondola ride on the grand canal.

Katakolon (Olympia)

You can walk from the ship into the main street which is full of friendly locals, pottery shops, boutiques the wterfront area is also a nice walk with local fisherman bringing in the daily catch or mending there nets, lots of lovely cafes and taverna's. I always like to venture into the back streets to see what local life is like at the far end of the main street is a lovely church and next to the church you will Jimmy's taverna fancy a local bite anything you wish you can get here its all homemade from the food, to honey and the wine beautiful sat here at 10.00am with the sun beating through the trees peaceful and tranquility.

There are lots of excursions if you fancy Olympia, taxis, beer bike horse and cart.

Izmir

We are arrived here or should I say 4 ships arrived here and IZMIR just was not ready for the tourists the tour bus we was fully booked we waited 1.5 hrs to board it, guys you could have had 10 or so buses for us, this is a vast and wide city the tour bus was good went it turned up with your language headphones. The shops are suppose to be fantastic but we walked the waterfront area and stayed close to the port.

Istanbul

I flagged a taxi outside the port which took us right to the blue mosque 10 euro bargain with the taxi driver they may start at 15-20 euro.. Istanbul is a mega maze again a vast and wide city, the blue mosque is iconic shoes off please well worth a visit you may have to Q go early in the morning if possible before the call for prayers otherwise you will have to wait a long time to get in...

I have seen alot of Istanbul the last time I was here 20 years ago so just boarded the hop on bus which has a red line and a blue line which crosses into asia the one ticket does both buses good value for money.

Dubrovnik

I have been many times fabulous place lovely people and you are made to feel very welcome, you can still see the bullet holes in the building from the war.

It is a good base to island hop.

Loads of cafes, restaurants, beautiful waterfront area and a nice walled city I just love a wee pub called Caffe Bar Libertina.
