We are a couple in our 50s and this was our 19th cruise, 7th with RCCL, and 2nd time on this ship. We booked this as a quick getaway to feed our cruising addiction between longer booked cruises. We live close to the port and so just drove in the day of the embarkation.

We parked in the terminal parking lot knowing it was more expensive than off site parking, but needed to do so because I had to get to work Monday morning. I still shake my head at the $60 fee for 4 calendar days when it is truly less than 72 hours. The new terminal is nice but it is very big and requires a lot of walking to check in and get to the ship. My wife recently had foot surgery and was out of her boot for the first time, so getting through the check-in process took a while because of the amount of walking required. I can see that the terminal is designed to accommodate the bigger Oasis when it arrives later this year.

Our cabin was junior suite #8140 on deck 8. Having been in a junior suite on Freedom class ships, this room was smaller than that but bigger than a standard balcony. The location was, unfortunately, under the solarium/Park Cafe area. So chair scrapes and some big heavy rolling carts could be heard early in the morning and late at night. To make the noise situation worse, the weather was very rough and the balcony door squeaked the whole time. And for the last challenge to getting any sleep, the bed mattress was rock hard. Sleep came from exhaustion (and wine) more than comfort. I would definitely not choose this location again. Our room steward, Daniel, was excellent and part of the comment in the title on service saving this cruise.
