I have been on a number of cruises as I live in Houston one hour north of Galveston. We choose and ocasional cruise for a change of pace and to do something different. We have been to the same destinations a number of times. As the ships and crews change you get a different flavor over a period of time. So we go more for the ship experience more so than the island stops themselves.
On our December 2015 cruise the entertainment was extremely extremely lacking. I have been on a number of cruises over the last 15 years, and this I can say this cruise rates at the very bottom and frankly saying that this was the absolute worst in on board entertainment.
The second evening I pointed out to the Cruise director (who was very cordial) that we were out walking around as a group of 6 friends until after midnight. We spent the evening talking together in the atrium to entertain ourselves as our welcome aboard entertainment. We walked around the ship and there were no late night bands playing music. We were up until mid-night and it seemed like a ghost town. I could have thrown tomatoes at the entertainment stages and literally no one would have been hit, because no one was there. The side walks were rolled up and all doors shut and instruments were put away. According to the cruise director there was a band "CD" as I recall the name played until midnight. We saw no such thing. When we walked past the area we recall that the insturments were put away.
