First of all, I must admit upfront, we are not frequent cruisers. The cruises we have taken tend to be casual, smaller vessels, with an educational enrichment focus. We booked this cruise because of the wonderful reputation Viking has for their River Cruises and because of the description of the Viking Star. It turned out to be a very successful trip for us...so much so that we booked a second cruise while aboard for later in 2016.

We had Viking take care of our air and it worked out perfectly. It is never fun to travel for 10+ hours from LA to Europe but the times were well thought out and the transfers in Amsterdam (going) and Paris (coming) went perfectly. We were met at the airport with no confusion. In fact the number of Viking Representatives handling the arriving passengers was impressive.

The process for signing in for the cruise was also extremely efficient. No long lines...waiting while jet-lagged. Quick and well-done.
