As a couple on our first ever cruise we really had nothing to compare it to so there definitely were a few surprises along the way. We had the most amazing time on our cruise to the South Pacific. The service on Radiance of the Seas was impeccable, from the moment we lined up to check in to the minute we left and I really do believe it was the staff who made the trip.
The ship itself is fine. She is an older ship and I thought that the décor, while clean and nice and despite a refurbish, was a little outdated. However the amount of things to do and places to eat is amazing. We spent all of our first day exploring and to be honest by the end of the cruise I think there were still a few places I never got to explore.
The food is great and we ate in the MDR as well as Chops Grill and Giovanni's. We went to the Windjammer for Breakfast and Lunch and sometimes went to the cafe near the Solarium.
The cabin was much, much smaller than I expected, however décor looked exactly as pictured. We didn't mind so much as we were hardly ever in the cabin and utilised the balcony when we were. The balcony is much larger than normal, but you do lose your privacy as the screens between balconies do not extend all the way out. The bathroom in the cabin is pitiful to be honest. The shower is not big enough at all. I'm 5'9" and felt claustrophobic when showering....and ladies forget shaving your legs... no room! There is no power point in the bathroom. The cabin does have adequate wardrobe space and storage. We tried to put suitcases under the bed, but they didn't fit, however we placed them in the wardrobe which got them out of the way. In general the cabin was clean, tidy had ample power points, storage, etc and the bed was comfortable. Was it luxurious like a hotel might be? Sadly no, but as I said we weren't in there for more than an hour at a time. I would absolutely refuse to put any more than two adults in the room.
Great sightseeing tour. Not worth booking the ships tour though.
Great tour teaching us about the culture and history of Vanuatu.
Beautiful beach and Riri Hole was lovely
Great for snorkelling however there is a very strong current around the island.
Beautiful beaches, however wear your reef shoes. The sand is quite rocky.
