Sail Date: Jan 2016

My husband and I flew all the way from Istanbul Turkey to take this cruise. There was another couple with us. The first dissapointment started at Rio port, where we had to get in line and wait for 5 hours pulling our luggages moving very slowly under the sun.

The rooms were nice, we booked one of the best with a sea view. Our room service was good. After two days of sailing the first stop was Buenas Aires, Argentina. We were warned about pickpockets so all we took with us was 100dollars each person and one credit card per couple. The city was very nice, but when three men attacked us in the middle of an avenue while we were at a pedestrian crossing all turned into a nightmare. One men grabbed me by the neck, two attacked my husband one sitting on him while the other teared off his watch, which was an expensive watch, I was saved by my friend from worse. We both fell on the road, many bruises but luckily no broken bones. The police appeared with an audacious attitude, we were scared of them also. None spoke a word of engish anyway.

We were so scared that all four of us immediately returned to the ship cancelling our evening plans for tango and an Argentinian steak. We stayed on board for the rest of the stay at BA then sailed to Falkland islands, hoping to stop at port Stanley. That was cancelled due to bad weather condtions, Sailed another two days to Ushuaia, Bad weather conditions again, so that port was also cancelled. At Punto Arenas we finally got off the ship. We returned in the afternoon to the ship thinking there was not too much to see.
