This was our second cruise on Solstice, traveling in room 9294 (Category Deluxe Verenda 1A) which had the larger balcony, but it does look towards the back of the ship. As a family, we are limited as to what rooms we can get as we need a four berth, but my preference would be to get a 1A room that looks forward. The bathroom is great and the shower is also great - with NO shower curtain.

On our previous trip, we did Concierge Class, but didn’t this time as we didn’t feel it gave you much more than a glossy gold room key card instead of the blue one. If you get a drinks package on your booking, a bottle of sparkling when you arrive in your room will be no interest (as you can have much nicer sparkling wine at one of the many bars on the ship) and the afternoon snacks on our last trip were never eaten.

This ship isn’t tailored too much to families (no ice skating rinks, wave pools, rock climbing walls etc). Our children really enjoyed the kids club (Fun Factory – the staff are excellent). There were only 150 children on the ship and the ones we saw all behaved really well.

Cabin 1A

Great room in middle of ship with larger veranda, but does look backwards.
