We got a great deal on the MSC Preziosa for a Mediterranean cruise from Genoa calling to Palermo, Valetta (changed to Palma de Mallorca due to adverse weather), Barcelona, Marseille and back to Genoa. We have cruised previously with RCL, Celebrity and Norwegian so we were excited to see how MSC would perform.

First off the ship is beautiful. It was launched in 2013 so is quite new. Our cabin an inside was beautiful and surprisingly spacious. It was located right up at the bow which meant a bit of walking to and fro but we didn't mind that. There are plenty of themed bars on the ship and several restaurants.

At this point I must say that we found the staff wonderful. They were I'd say one of the most friendliest crew that we've come across in our few years of cruising. Always smiling, polite and ready to help they are a credit to MSC. I cannot understand the comments that some people have made in previous reviews about them being rude or not smiling because I certainly didn't experience that. Maybe its the fact that being customer facing on a cruise ship is a very demanding job and I saw with my own eyes the utter rudeness of some customers towards staff. In my experience if you are polite towards staff they will reciprocate (of course there are always exceptions!).
