Our second Viking River cruise Moscow to St Petersburg 5 years ago. Grand European cost was a good value, though late in year. Longboat was very well laid out. Should have gone earlier to Budapest and stayed longer, though have be to AMS twice before.

Over all a great time. Departure at night from Budapest was spectacular. Did not have low water! Problem with Germans permitting landing for Nuremberg: Cruised on. Next day retraced optional tour which was opened to all at no cost and added special lunch. Did optional tour from another landing while 500 WW II bomb was cleared which had closed all river traffic. Staff was great. Entertainment good. Were in best shape after stairs and cobble stones! Able to drink our own wine we brought aboard.

Had one couple doing their 6 VRC. A few with 5! VRC must be doing something well. Most were newbies and went with the flow. Read more
