New Orleans being my closest port has Carnival & Norwegian only. Ive cruised 4 times on Carnivals Dream ship but just returned Sunday 01-17-16 on my 1st cruise aboard Norwegians Dawn, and in my opinion there is no comparison between the two with Norwegian Dawn being far superior in value, service, food, drinks, beauty of ship, etc...

We even got the Unlimited drink package for FREE on Norwegian (still available on select bookings) which includes UNLIMITED TOP SHELF drinks, wines, liquor shots, beer, etc.. which blew me away. On Carnival the pkg costs $50.00 daily and limits you to 15 drinks of low end booze per day.

On Carnival after midnite you get pizza only. On Norwegian the Blue Lagoon dining room is open 24/7 offering a 3 course menu including appetizers & desserts.

Belize City

Tender ride over to the port is always fun. Did some shopping. Never left the port area.

Costa Maya

This place was awesome! has a HUGE pool in the center of the port to cool off in, great vendors & shops, Dolphin tank was free to see, and if water park is your thing has a wonderful water park & nearby beaches.
