Our first experience on a river cruise, after 18 ocean cruises, was everything we hoped it would be. The Eistla was well appointed and very comfortable and the size made it easy to meet and interact with most of the other guests. Because Europe had experienced a very dry summer, the rivers were too low to navigate in several places necessitating our need to change ships twice. The moves were nearly seamless and we didn't miss one advertised tour or scenic cruising and Viking compensated us fairly for the inconvenience. Our Program Director, David and Concierge, Nina stayed with us for the entire journey and worked tirelessly to keep us informed and entertained.

The included tours were well organized and gave us a great overview of the cities and towns we were visiting and the mix of organized tours and free time gave us time to explore further on our own.

The three ships we sailed on, the Eistla, the Vili and the Mirmir were all well cared for and all three staffs seemed genuinely happy to have us onboard. The senior crew greeted us each evening as we entered the dining room for a very pleasant dining experience with good food and plenty of complimentary wine and beer.
