We enjoy starting the New Year with this short cruise. This year it was Jan 10-14. We have sailed aboard sister ships Paradise and Inspiration to Catalina Island and Ensenada 4 of the past 5 Januarys and Imagination did not disappoint. We drove in from Phoenix the day of the cruise arriving around noon and aboard by 2. Our only real criticism would be regarding the muster drill. It seemed a bit disorganized and took the longest to complete compared to previous experiences.

Throughout the ship we encountered hard working, professional staff who greeted with us with smiles. Overall the ship was very clean. Our cabin well tended. Prompt service at every turn. We always feel special on a cruise and the staff did a fantastic job.

Eating/Drinking - We had purchased the Drink pkg and had no issues at any bar or dining room on the ship. Speaking of dining room, we used Anytime Dining and we had a great table with 2 other couples and enjoyed hearing their 'sea' stories. Service was prompt and we were done within an hour, including the melting chocolate cake. We ate at the Lido Cafe for breakfast and lunch. Plenty of food choices. No problems eating before the families arrive. Fresh omelettes in the morning became fresh sandwiches for lunch. The tables were bused quickly and the bar in the rear provided excellent bloody mary's and mimosas. Room Service provided simple but satisfying late night snacks. The only thing missing since last year was the surf 'n' turf. It IS available for a fee. So we kinda made our own with steak, shrimp, scallops, etc. Our wait staff got a kick out of us.

Cabin Review

Porthole

Cabin PT

Excellent cabin location and quiet. We like porthole cabins as we get the benefit of sunlight at the price of an inside. Plenty of room for two. TV a bit small. Cabin steward Paul provided great service.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

Fairly simple check-in process. Takes about an hour.

Catalina Island (California)

Rented a golf cart online prior to arrival and received 3 hours for the price of 2. Followed the map, had plenty of photo ops, shopping and eating. Great time.

Ensenada

Once off the ship, grab the local promoter. $6 r/t pp shuttle into town and then $15 pp for a/c, bus with english speaking tour guide to La Bufadora. Plenty of shopping and eating available. Really good fresh food and pina coladas.
