After reading the passengers complaints today in the Melbourne papers 21/1/2016 regarding the Carnival Spirit,it did not surprise me at all.We did the South Pacific cruise in early January 2014.To start with, one suitcase was destroyed upon loading and was left in reception with no one bothering to let us know even though there was luggage tags attached.Upon enquiring as to its whereabouts we found it ourselves and realised some items were missing including jewelry.Carnival could not have cared less.We found drinks on board were very expensive with the cheapest beer coming in at $8.The food was average at best and was always served just warm.Out of 5 ports we were to visit we visited one.In fact when we returned I wrote a letter of complaint which found its way to Head Office. They replied with many apologies and then the following week I received a bill for unpaid beer purchases.??? Even though you have to settle your account before disembarking.??? This cruise line has a lot to learn regarding the treatment of its paying passengers. We do 2 cruises every year but we make sure it is never with Carnival Cruises.

We did our own thing in port and enjoyed our day even though we had to shop for a new suitcase. The excursions offered on the ship were way to expensive.
