Amazing staff on the NCL Dawn, especially when faced with severe allergies.

Fun photos to always remember our family adventure

Four Canadian women off on a mother daughter vacation. My Mom is in her 60's and two in their forty's and one in her 20's. We were so excited two full days and a half In NOLA and a cruise. Leaving Canada in -20 degree Celsius to New Orleans plus 20 Celsius.

We pre booked the cruise in April with NCL (always book early watch price call back to get the discounts but we get best room and sometimes even more upgrades) and air months before (get a seat) and hotel weeks before (be aware of sport and holidays where you are going see my comments) with book it.com. I have used book it many times before for travel with other friends and my family as we travel often with our boys. This time however book it had many issues. The day before the cruise they called to tell me my room was not actually confirmed so I needed to take a similar elsewhere or get money back and book my self for pre cruise night. i was unhappy as they tried to downgrade me at first (stick to your guns folks) do not accept the star less or the less amenities. Unfortunate for us bad weekend to not be pre booked so I stuck to my guns and insisted we get something better if nothing the same was offered after over a hour of phone time and hassle we finally got the St Charles in French quarter but lost some things like free shuttle etc which is huge value in New Orleans. We can't blame them for the airline screw up) but book it also canceled our post night so thank God I had a feeling and called before paying $50+ in taxi to go to the hotel right away they were able to rebook us but another wasted hour of your time, cell phone charges and stress.

Ahh New Orleans lush warmth and friendly helpful (except United airlines ) people. We arrived in New Orleans and took the bus from the airport to the French quarter. I do not recommend this as even with no luggage (thanks to united airlines who shut doors in front of us after they arrived late in Denver and then proceeded to loose all four of suitcases) there was a stop where you get off and change buses between parishes. You have to go across the road to a normal bus stop to catch the next bus to the quarter which for us was about 25 minute wait at dusk in strange city in area we did not know if it was safe. The bus takes you to another bus stop right off canal so you can walk from here if you don't have a disability.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Amazing lots of room for four women traveling together including our wardrobes and make up bags. We had a big balcony where we all sat many times enjoying pace and quite. There was never a time where we could not be out on deck because of smokers like some people complain. Turn down service was great and after the first night we had our towel animals etc too. Remover to look through all papers I. Your room on he desk to see if your invitations to previous cruiser parties etc are there. Bring magnets and magnetic hooks to hold your extras and info sheets and maps.

Costa Maya

Stayed at peir snorkelled and shopped had amazing rings made in stainless steel for my boys and just relaxed not hawkers just relaxed fun You get massages, snorkel, pool, shop, eat , drink. If you want it is about 15 walk to town market and beach. Not much price difference. We just wanted to relax. I bought the most amazing rings custom made for my boys at a shop down peir shop area on right hand side right befor pool. Stainless steel rings you pick size and design is cut in using these little hand saws amazing to watch and only took about 29 minutes get there fast as they get huge line up. My boys play football do for my grad I got football with his number In it and for my junior I got football and his initials as his number has changes and may again. The man is supper talented and I would love to show my boys how they were made if anyone thinks to film it hint

Wow awesome we were spoiled from start to finish he was amazing and the orphanage we went to was for teen boys so bought some sport gear and treat for them for the local grocery store too. Our driver George Lemus of Roatan custom tours was very k owledgeable and is trying to grow his business he got us back in lots of time too.

The place we went to snorkel was a basic reef but lots of fun and dirt cheap there was a rsatirnt and change rooms there too.

The ziplineing was amazing zoo ziplineing (7 lines ) was all for $ 30 snorkel gear rental was $5 and our driver was cheap what a memorable day
