Cruise experience: This was our 8th cruise and our 3rd with Princes. Will we go with Princess again? Probably but not for a while as our experience was not what it had been in the past. We were somewhat disappointed. Embarkment: Embarkment seemed like it was much unorganized. We have been on 7 other cruises 2 with Princess. This time it seemed a little disorganized and very slow. We don't know if it was just the Los Angeles Port. We have never had to wait this long or seen as much confusion as we did this time.

Food: The food was good. We had room service for the most part at breakfast. The times we did go to the buffet the food was just okay. Not always warm and the staff at the buffet was not always friendly. For lunch we ate at the buffet and it was good. The pizza and hotdogs were great. There seemed to be a good variety of food on the buffet for lunch. On certain days there were special themes such as sushi bar, a taco bar, a dessert bar and a few others. We however did not see most of these advertised in our Princess Patter so we missed a few. Dinner for 13 nights we ate in the dining room at the anytime dining. This is our favorite we can eat when we want to. The food was good; the staff was not as outgoing and friendly as we have seen in the past. Some of the staff seemed like they didn't like there jobs and didn't want to be there. We have always had friendly and outgoing waiters and waitresses. The variety of food in the dining room was good. The late night buffet was the most disappointing we have ever seen. The first two nights there was a great variety to choose from. However, the nights to follow that you had a very poor selection to choose from and some of it didn't look fresh at all. They had brownies every night as in the past there were lots of variety of cookies and such to choose from. We are milk drinkers and we asked for milk with most meals. In the dining room it was cold and fresh. However at the buffet sometimes (unless you specified cold fresh milk) you got milk that had been sitting for who knows how long in carafes on the shelf. Not that we go just to eat but if you are a regular cruise you know that the buffet is usual a good snack before retiring. There was no special dessert extravaganza as there has been in the past it was only the little one that they had one day during lunch hour on the Ledo deck.

Entertainment: The entertainment was top notch. A magician, two comedians, Broadway shows, a show by the cruise staff and the international cruise staff, a hypnotist (hilarious) a singer and the princess pop star and a special show of hula dancing and the ukuleles. Even though this sounds like a lot of entertainment we found it not enough. They had for instance the same Broadway show and a comedian two nights in a row. So there was as much variety as we thought there should have been on a 14 day cruise. We would defiantly like more.

Cabin Review

BAD EXPERIENCE UNFORTUNETLY:

We had two rooms. Our first room had plumbing issues and we were moved to another room part way through our trip. It took 3 days for them to fix our plumbing completely and then it really was completely fixed. It took several calls to the purser desk to complain. It was not a good experience. Then the room we moved into had the Ledo deck galley above us which provided noise. This was not a very good experience either. We were told the room was vacant because someone left the ship but then found out a day or so later that wasn't the case that the people had moved out due to the noise. This was told to us by the neighbors who were relatives of the people in our new cabin. The head purser desk person told us is was vacant do to someone leaving the ship.. we found this dishonest and didn't appreciate it. We are taking these issues up with Princess because we are hoping that no one else has to go through days of no plumbing and then excess noise as well. We got some satisfaction on the boat from the head of the pursers desk but no where near what we should have and it took days and multiple complaints to get where we did. Some of the people that we dealt with that seemed unhappy and just some others would say well I can't help or I don't know..because I just got on the boat in such and such a port. To us this is unacceptable because they are all Princess employee's and should be trained or have a clue as to what they are doing.

We will cruise Princess again but this defiantly has made us think and look at Princess very carefully.
